according to Reading Chronicle on BBC Gossips column. Thought they were struggling financially. Apart from the usual obstacles we can think of such as age and wages, I think it would be a good signing for us

Hasn't he been convicted of Drink driving and Domestic abuse, in the last 3 seasons?

The team would massively benefit from a couple quality loans from prem clubs, someone of similar calibre to Chong yesterday.

The problem with trying to bring experience in. If there’s an experienced player in this country that would fit into our wage bill (without being subsidised by their current club), then there’s likely to be multiple reasons not to sign him. That’s why I doubt there’ll be an experienced midfielder brought in, unless Schopp has a Sollbauer type signing from his previous club lined up

given the weaknesses in centre mid and lack of experience there i think a loan may work ok. We had Garder, James x2, did a job. If we step up in quality and look at younger prem players like Drinkwater, Barnes, also did a job. There are players but maybe we have missed the opportunity so late in the window.

Are we better taking someone like Chong on loan or signing someone like Benson?

    Money probably.
But I was just saying if it was one or the other which would we prefer? Hypothetical question, all opinions are valid.

I'd sooner buy Benson and loan a more experienced player.

Both, permanent signings such as benson is a must for a club like ours. I'm not saying we become reliant on loans, but a couple of players who we would have no chance of signing permanently but are better than what we have would also be welcome additions.

He’s screwed up too many times, reckon he’s living off past glories now, wouldn’t touch him with a barge pole.

Benson looks an absolute gold plated signing so far, would much rather sign someone with a chance we might be stuck with a dud ( mentioning no names- might be off to Oxford though) then pay for someone else’s development we don’t get the best of likes of - Barnes, Kent became better players with us and we didn’t see any benefit from that, as they took their time with us to find their feet.
I would say though we got good value from some - the ones that spring to mind are DK, Drinkwater and Mcbernie, who all immediately made us better but we’re beyond our financial capabilities to sign.
