None of those are recognised strikers though. You could make an argument for Jesus, but he hadn't played up front in his career until he signed for City.
I can't believe some are saying this wouldn't be a good signing. City will win the league again at a canter if Ronaldo signs. He'll get 20 goals just from penalties alone.
He's still played most of his career as a striker. The point I was making is that to suggest they don't have a striker is an exaggeration and less of an issue to city regardless, because pep often prefers to play without a typical number 9. Which is what Ronaldo is now. Not for one minute suggesting he won't be a success, just surprised it's a move pep is desperate to make.
If they sign him I think it hinders their chance of winning the league. I can’t see how he fits into Guardiola’s style of play & I think Grealish holds on to the ball too long for him too. He’ll take some work to become a key player for him. It might be a bit like Mahrez where it’s his second season with City before he looks the part. Chelsea should win the league for me. Their team is full of top class players & they’re far more balanced than City. I still think Liverpool have the best first 11 when everyone’s fit but Chelsea have got the best squad by far. Liverpool will probably fall away when they get a few injuries where as City & Chelsea can just bring in more top class players.
normally I’d agree but can’t see how he fits the mould for Pep. Can’t see him pressing or running around too much. His time at Juve hadn’t been the greatest success either.
Not been the best success but still scored 81 goals in 98 games which is pretty good going. He won't run around and press but with Ronaldo you guarantee one thing and that is goals. He will easily get 20+ goals in that city side. No issue, the amount of service he will get playing for them will make his life easy.
Cristiano Ronaldo to Man City: Could Juventus forward end up at Etihad Stadium? https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/58350293 some good stuff on here de his input
I bet City (& Chelsea & Liverpool) will be pissing themselves if Man Utd end up splashing their budget on Ronaldo rather than sorting central midfield out.
I think they might end up doing both and blow the title race wide open. Could be a crazy few hours in the transfer window.
