QPR fan site - usually well written, by someone with a soft spot for us, going on recent reports. Latest report worth a read too. Sorry if posted already but I haven't seen it in another thread https://www.fansnetwork.co.uk/footb...into-the-fire-to-grasp-unlikely-point--report
What a superb report. Like Red Rain brought in to the 21st Century! (Bossman: Sithee! Ev a look at this! )
Obviously a labour of love. A bloody good read, head and shoulders above most professional match reports.
Interesting that he thinks both sides should have had a red card. It's something that hasn't really been discussed. The challenge by Ilias Chair just after his goal was shocking. On another day, he would have walked for it. I'm struggling to see how the tackle by Styles should have been a red card though. Cynical? Absolutely. Dangerous? Behave!
I think there should be a sanction between a yellow card and a red card for such offences, many would argue that yellow is too lenient and that red is harsh. Maybe they should have zones on the pitch so that for the rest of the game such a player should be confined to one such. So a defender would be forced to stay in the opponent's half, a midfielder could be confined to the centre area or a striker in their own half. They could be electronically tagged and would trigger a free kick if they strayed, 3 zonal violations resulting in an automatic red card. This post started out as tongue firmly in cheek, but now I've written it, it makes (some) sense....
He's got this spot on for both halves. Schopp will need to ask himself why he capitulated into a defensive formation and mind set in the second half. It wasn't the players' fault. Why take off Palmer AND Benson who had patrolled and controlled the centre so effectively in the first half? Okay, they were on yellows, but Moon and Halme deprived of pace and craft in the middle. I thought the tactics second half were Johnsonesque, recalling how the wee one had the unerring ability to turn winning situations into draws and draws into defeats - remember? We only needed to continue to offer a serious threat of counter attack to get over the line with a more defensive set up, but got pinned right back to our penalty area for the last fifteen minutes and that was down to the formation as much as the performance of the eleven on the pitch.
The amount of yellows and a lot of them stupid ones at that is a concern , We won’t have a team in November.
Let's not forget they got a point from someone scoring who should have been banned for his blatant headbutt in his previous game.
