It’s bad enough seeing us bring on Jasper Moon and Aapo Halme into midfield without seeing this.

Oh what could’ve happened this season..

why? we offered him a contact and he fked off, he scores an odd good goal fair enough, but we saw plenty of them end up in row Z too, lets see what we end up with

Be interesting to see if that's one of his 3 screamers for the season or whether he'll improve his ratio of goals to awful shots into orbit

Considering He went on a free. He will hit double figures.

Fair play to him. Served us well. Did his fair bit in a red shirt

Do you actually think we could have kept Mowatt?
What's the point in moaning about something that was beyond our control?

No I didn’t. I do expect us to replace him and add to that as well. Do you think a midfield of Halme and Moon is acceptable at this level? Whether it’s for 5 minute or not…

    Step forward senior Paul…

Watching Man City v Norwich and city playing like us first half today. Might look for a Worsbrough Common Athletic stream for second half.

We lost him because we can’t afford the wage demands of a player with his quality and experience. So any replacement we bring in is unlikely to be as good, for the same reason, unless there’s a loan deal to be done.

We do need to bring someone in though, we were short of midfielders before he left

I'd say Benson is definitely his replacement. Halme and Moon are irrelevant. We have Styles, Kane and Palmer already in contention for central midfield. Halme and Moon should only be playing there if we have suspensions and injuries.
In terms of midfield then we're exactly the same as last season given that Benson is the replacement for Mowatt. You and I may not think he's an immediate like for like but there's no way we were ever going to go out and buy someone of Mowatt's standing.

We've had to put up with five years of people moaning about us cashing in on Hourihane, can we please not start about the fact we didn't cash in on Mowatt?

Scoring for fun this season! We're missing him but I'm hopeful.that Benson will develop quickly and Mowatt becomes a lovely distant memory!

Benson already looks like a class act. Box to box. tricky on the ball. puts a tackle in. hits a beautiful pass. hope he can get on the score sheet quickly as that will boost his onfidence.
    Top footballer.

I think J Williams is a big miss off the bench. Would’ve given the option of putting Styles, Brittain or Sibbick in midfield, given how versatile he is.

I didn’t get to see any games when Struber had Halme at the base of a midfield diamond, but I didn’t see anything from him last season to suggest he can play anywhere other than the middle of a back three or four.
