Yes corners count and I think helik got a few last season from them might aswell stick him up top then
‘Plus ca change’. Back in the 1960s we had a wing half, John Bethany, who had more football ‘nous’ than anyone else in the team. He got inordinate slagging off from the terraces most of which was borne out of ignorance. Over the years nothing has changed. We rarely appreciate what we have until it’s gone.
no they don’t. Helik didn’t score any last season as I’m taking all those scored from corners and crosses away. In fact no one scored for us. No idea why we didn’t get relegated. Maybe we should request a review from the EFL
Final answer , when Woodrow starts firing Gola's in on a regular basis I stand with my original statment just like the OP said , he's been gash for 2years
Last time out we had, Dom Freeze on the left, Oduour on the right. Cauley CF, Miller and Vic on the bench. We're lucky to have him. There's something the BBS need to know. The best in the world is Cauley Woodrow Ar number 9. Give him the ball and he'll score everytime. Siiiiii senor! Give the ball to Cauley and he'll score.
Ultimately, Woodrow is in the team because he is undoubtedly one of our best three forwards. If that were to change, we'd be doing very well. He's adjusted to a few roles, playing off a target man in a front two, as a 10, middle of a front three and to the left of a front three. He's not grumbled, and contributed even if he's not got as many goals as he'd want. The two things that frustrate me are, he seems more concerned with winning free kicks than winning the ball. If he did the latter, he might actually win more free kicks. And the second is he just doesn't get into positions to score. When Palmer got in behind and didn't know what to do, Woodrow was in a position that would've been impossible to get the ball to him. He never runs across the front defender when the ball gets wide, and when Brittain had his shot saved, where were the forwards for the rebound?
I think Woodrow is our best striker, he's proved that for a few years now however I also think that for quite a while now he's been living off his reputation and while his general work rate running around is there his commitment in challenges and battles with opponents really isn't. It's like his decided he isn't good enough for that part of the game and so flat out refused to compete which isn't good enough really and if he's not scoring goals then there really is a question of how long can he be carried whilst refusing to do such a key part of the job?
Haven't seen him score a header from a corner for ages he never looks dangerous at attacking set plays our biggest threat there is helik, probley why he started taking the corners.
Wednesday away and Cardiff at home last season. Of course he’ll have more chance if he’s not taking the corner, or if he’s even the target, which more often than not he isn’t.
