We were comfortably the better side after the first 20 minutes and could easily have scored a few.

We lost to Luton at Home last season so Nowt new there.

 

Don't think I've ever seen a more physically built side. And struggled against that side of the game most of the first half. Much better showing 2nd half. Made enough chances. Hope these Belgian lads know how to bury em. Far too weak in front of goal at the mo.

They scored. We didn't. The only thing that matters is scoring more than our opponent. We've had two blanks in our first four games. Possession and missed chances count for nothing.

I think its wrong to write off players and manager of course at this point. But its ok to be disappointed and frustrated. People will make their observations and challenge what we have to do to improve. Im not convinced Palmer + Styles works too well on and off the ball in this new set up. Doesnt mean i have written em off.

Similar to my thinking, Styles and Palmer in midfield together either simply don’t work or they just need more time. Given we’re only 3 league games in, I’ll go with the latter.

Beginning to think it’s a work permit issue. This fitness excuse just doesn’t stack up given the lack of decent forward options tonight.

 

If that is so David then why aren't we being told that. This wall of silence on the subject is really starting to grate now. Even the RS lot said earlier in the day that we might see at least one of them tonight, so are they being led up the garden path as well?

It's certainly an odd one, all round. How many weeks is it since they arrived, promising us top level European competition-standard players? We'd soon forget Big Daryl once this chap Oulare got going, and the other one is some kind of speed merchant down the wings. Just what we need. If only we had players like that to call on.......

 

I thought at times we played better than we did Saturday. Benson is a beautiful footballer. Palmer has the potential to be a top player. I am confident in our back three. Styles and Britain have had better games but we know their quality. However I thought our front were poor. They didn’t miss too many chances but that was down to their lack of movement and intelligence. Very frustrating that we seem to have appeared to have signed players that are no where near match fit. I think this team could potentially but a very very good team, but at the moment the lack of spark up front makes us appear very ordinary.

I’d also like to see a change of formation to a three man midfield with a new recruit in this area. I think a ball winning midfielder who sits would really enable Palmer and Benson to get on the ball and play.
