Christ chill out my guy. Was only jesting you. For what it’s worth I thought their lad Sheaf was very tidy.

yes I’d agree. When he wasn’t cheating he was pivotal to their play. Didn’t impact the game like Palmer did but certainly was a threat and played well

VIs style was very distinctive though - this was nothing like it

Val plays the ball high often into the channels demanding his players press like maniacs and squeeze the game - we picked up so many second balls under VI - much fewer today

I’m really not sure what our style is under this guy - it’s certainly not very clear or distinctive yet

Palmer played the through ball for Freezer. Which won the game.

O'Hare (?) got brought down numerous times in cynical fashion by various BFC players - hence the yellow card count.

Depends on how you define "impact".

Freezer had the biggest impact cos he finished like a good 'un.

In general terms, you are right. However, Coventry play in a way that makes that sort of game very hard to deliver. They play 3 at the back, and although they can play from the back, they also often knock it long before we can make a challenge. I do not recall much of it, but I sense last season's 0-0 home draw contained very little of what you describe.

It's the words. The words that you post. About the matter in hand, It's nothing else.

    Concentrate on that.

If you feel the need to start bringing anyone's personality into it, you 've lost.

Respond to what has been posted, not what you think the poster might be. Who cares if I'm "cool and edgy"?

    Do you?

    Stick to the argument.

    yes fair point

Everything seemed very clear and simple last season under Val - players understandably like this and made that clear in the media

it’s the complete opposite so far this season, which I find concerning - set pieces also look much weaker (in attack and defence)

palmer created the chance that won us the game. It’s really that straightforward. Whilst playing well O’Hara didn’t have the same impact.

So did Palmer by Coventry players, but nothing from the ref in terms of cards, therein lies the complaining.

Covn played a very direct game and pressed high, but we didn’t bi-pass midfield in the same manner as we used to do under Val. I’m glad we’ve not reverted to faffing around a-la our Rochdale manager days, but we certainly weren’t the long ball machine we saw under Val either.

Rosco’s summary of the new tactics -

less utter madness, more playing normal football.

Worst analogy ever. IKEA flat pack instruction manuals consist of a series of numbered diagrams. There's hardly any writing at all. Even goats can follow them.

He's 23. A year older than Romal. We looked at him in 2017/18 when still at Villa, when we had that obsession with number 10's. We signed Mallan instead. Think he went on loan to Carlisle, then he's had a couple of years with Cov, first in L1 and then last season in this league. He's not really done a lot to shout about. He's clearly talented but their fans think there isn't enough end-product. And I'd have to say I agree. He was stopped pretty easily by us today. By whatever means. The couple of times he got towards the box he fluffed his lines with poor finishing.

Romal is a far better midfielder in my opinion. Because he's not one-dimensional.

    Only my opinion, of course.

Ah - I was told by a bloke in the crowd he was 19.

I'm not sure he was stopped easily today, but fair enough his end product was far and wide.

He did seem to be the beginning and end of their team today.

I might lose my gamble on where he and Romal are, 2 years from now.

    Thanks for that.

Who knows pal. None of us. That's the beauty of it.

I'm massively impressed with our first two games. I'd have bitten your arm off for a draw at Cardiff and a 1-0 win today.

I'd take a point from both of the next two also.

It took us 7 games to get four points on the board last season.
