It’s football,we’re not re-inventing the wheel. If he writes a tactical analysis of Barnsley remind me not to read it.

Wouldn't you say that Woodrow drops deeper like O'Hare ? But didn't cause Coventry too many problems.

I was replying to Gegenpresser, but I think they're both important to their respective teams, but play different roles.

You're right that the deep lying forward caused us lots of problems.

As a general rule, I'd suggest you avoid Red Rain's posts. He delves deep and is very much in the Marmite category.

Personally I'm all about the umami.

The Ice Man's finish was sublime TBH.

    No, I don't.

The forward press calls for Woodrow to challenge for balls high on the pitch. Today, after we lost Morris, Woodrow became the player furthest forward. On other days, he can drop deeper looking for space, but that is not the same as the No10 role, where a player tries to play between the lines because there is more space there and his coach believes that he can influence the game more from there.

Benson looked good when he came on.
Think he'd be better off at lwb till we get a replacement.

If he was truly any good, he wouldn’t still be playing for Coventry.

Furthest foreward doing what ?? Our chances today dropped to Freizer and Odour because they were the only ones looking to break foreward, Woodrow was limited to 30 yard potshots which is the part of the pitch he seems to play in.

When the ball was kicked long, Woodrow was the one trying to challenge for it down the centre of the pitch. OK, he rarely won a challenge, but that role is no more Woodrow's game than it is Frieser's game or Oduor's game. He simply drew the short straw.

    Oh come on Tarn.

He's taken the time to write it.

And unless you read it, you'll never know whether it's accurate or not.

And if you think it's not accurate, you need to post why not.

    That's only fair isn't it?

Fair do's we'll have to agree to disagree, but I really don't see Woodrow as being our most foreward striker. I'm not sure he had a shot inside Coventry's area.

Does that apply to our players too?

If they were any good they ought not to be playing for Barnsley?

This kid is 19 (I think).

“We had played very much as we had played under Ismael.”

we really didn’t though. There was much more measured attempts to pass the ball to a player rather then kick and chase. I would be interested in our pass completion % compared to an average game under Ismael but I’m betting it was higher.l today.

I appreciate that many on here only are incapable of understanding the difference between wanting to win, and whether we deserved to win.

I want us to win as much as anyone.

But I can't blind myself to what I've actually seen.

    There we go.

But it wasn't playing out from the back, was it.
