Anyone else witness this? Total idiots causing mayhem and danger where women and kids are…hope your all very proud of yourselves?
I meant the match!!! God knows how bad it would have been had we lost the game - started by a Barnsley fan just looking for a fight
Sure it wasn't the Chip shop around the corner, im sure a fish got battered........ ill get mi coit...... again Seriously we have some idiots, and while ever they are allowed to get away with it they will carry on. We seem to have a consistent minority but nevertheless one that embarrasses all of us.
Saw someone in a Knights Templar outfit take a swing a Coventry fan on Grove Street... and that was before the game.
A few Cov fans wanting trouble before the game outside West stand when they almost got it decided against it. Think they brought a fair few morons themselves.
It wasn’t started by a Barnsley fan at all, a Coventry fan came by the queues and started shouting abuse at everyone. Why on earth did the police allow them to be there in the first place is beyond me. Incidentally the afore mentioned City fan who got layed out was in the wrong place at the wrong time
I was queuing up for a burger from that van at the bottom of the Pontefract road entrance and a load of Coventry fans turned up with a police escort. Most of them looked balloxed and were trying to start with Barnsley fans. Couldn't really get my head around where they may have been. Wrong entrance to come from town and at the wrong end of the stadium. Had the police shoved them in a pub on Donny or Sheffield road?
Did Brad Collins have objects thrown at him while taking the goal kicks looked like he was gesturing to the ref that he had could be wrong though.
Another example of poor organisation all around. The Police escorted a coach of Cov fans up Ponte road. Im guessing they held em somewhere and brought em in close to kick off. They perhaps didn't realise the congestion and therefore let fans off the coach on Ponte Rd. Police walked in with some and others drifted to wherever they wanted.
Scrapping outside Gala Bingo on way out too - no police presence at all around the interchange or bingo place. I know it might have been classed as a low risk game, but usually there’s a few riot vans kicking around under the bridge and outside the interchange. If it had proper kicked off - it would have been a good 10 mins or so until the police would have got there.
Different incident because no one got laid out - this was an incident where a Barnsley fan was screaming in face of a Cov fan and went for him - this was after the game walking towards Oakwell sandwich shop
Something went off in the East Stand car park. Seems the away coaches were routed through there with Beevor Court being closed. Not sure if it was just hand signals through the coach window or if some cov fans got off but a load of the heavy mob security turned up and and ended up at the side of the coach. Obviously with the car park barrier being down the Coventry coaches were there for ages. The Tykes TV lads were filming nearby so it may be on their video. Routing the away coaches through that area doesn't seem like a safety improvement.
You ain't kidding - there fücking was. I was waiting for the 17:21 to Sheffield, and a glass bottle landed next to me as I was queuing to get on it. From what I could work out, there was a Cov fan who was being wound up by some of our lot. Something then happened. There were some lads looking over from the bus station side, so they could see over onto the platform, and chuck stuff/shout stuff. There were yellow-jacketed coppers, or whoever, running towards that bit of the platform, and a very angry woman who was having to be held back. I did not expect it against a club like Cov, where we mean literally nothing to each other.
As mentioned above it was nearly a massive scrap just before kick off, All the amendments to the access and egress to the ground for safety reasons and then for some inexplicable reason it was decided to bring groups of drunken Coventry fans through the ponty car park and around the west stand, ive never seen that before. Luckily a Black Maria arrived to rescue the few coppers who were stood between the Coventry fans and all the Barnsley idiots who happened to be stuck in the queue trying to get in. that’s the first time in a very, very long time I’ve seen any hint of trouble close to the ground.
yeah I was on the other side waiting for the huddersfield train. i saw one kid...and I call him a kid...spit in someone's face, which caused one of the older lads to lose his $hit
