Could be on his way to Southampton to replace Ings. Hope Blackburn aren't interested in any of our strikers with that lump of change in their pocket.
I would be surprised both ways, I can Blackburn going back to the Premier league & looking for a fringe forward like they did with Armstrong & by the same token , no disrespect to Blackburn but a move there for any of our players is only a sideways move & considering last season possibly even a backward step.
Have you seen their debts? Won't be much making it's way in to the transfer kitty. They need another 2/3 Armstrongs to fix the issues they've got. They'll be looking in the Champ and abroad for the next £1 million striker they can turn in to a £10 million one.
In last year of his contract. Crystal Palace are believed to be in for him but wont pay the £20million Blackburn want.
Palace, Norwich, Southampton and Watford interested. Think they will end up with a fee not far off 20m.
They should be paying off some of their 140 million pounds debt with it. https://the72.co.uk/242419/indebted...-down-the-barrel-of-a-damning-2021-22-season/
They should be. Be easier to try and get to the Premier League by overspending some more and then use Premier League money to pay it off. Maybe they should sell 10 year season tickets...
I know a couple of Blackburn fans & they know they will have to sell & have little chance of being above us next season. That said I can't see them going down, like Derby, who are in a total mess. (I was tempted to use a term that I won't use, since it was explained to me on another thread).
They will be in danger of relegation if they don't find a forward player soon though. They'll lose Armstrong, they've lost Dack to injury and lost Harvey Elliot as well as other loan players. They're now relying on Gallagher, Brereton and Dolan to get their goals. Dolan is a good young prospect, Brereton can be ok on his day and I wouldn't want Gallagher anywhere near our squad. Their squad looks a bit light; https://www.rovers.co.uk/news/2021/august/Squad-numbers-announced-for-2021-22/ Looking at relegation odds, first one I checked they are 8/1, longer than half of the league. Looks a decent bet to me. Though, I can see why some would have a punt on Barnsley to go down at 10/1, given how the changes make things difficult to predict for us.
Think Mowbray will be their saving grace, canny manager, not very exciting but he’s too good to get relegated imho.
