    I'm not trying to make out he was Lionel messi but he was good for us very effective in that season and the one after. Even after all his mates jumped ship for a pay rise and he thought ill have abit of that handed transfer request in that got rejected he still gave 100% and was scoring so I've got nothing negative to say about him.

    Thank you for your lovely maturity and contribution to the thread. It's exactly what it needed. He left at the end of the 2006-17 season so he's been gone four years now. So in the four years since leaving us he could have played 176 league games (3x46 + 1x38).

    2017-18 24 league games 0 goals.......

    In just 2 seasons with us he played 76 games and scored 15 goals. He's played less league games in the past four seasons than he did overall games for us in half the time. Of course there is no denying his bank balance is bigger but I would rather go with a guy like Chaplin who's willing to drop a league for more regular game time. Football players get remembered by fans for what they contributed on the pitch, not how much they earned.

    Tbf Chaplin is probably getting paid more at Ipswich than he was with us. They are throwing money about at the moment

    Of course he would have but he didn't have that choice. He had to pick between us and Ipswich in lower league and he chose them. Will probably get a bit more game time there but he will also be getting paid more which I am sure will have swung it

    Don't know why the OP is being berated. His comments are valid. Done very little since leaving us. And hasn't got a club as we speak.
