All those replicators, with power to create anything from a plate of lasagne to a pair of roller skates, and yet somehow Starfleet loses the template for bras.
I met Murray Melvin once. Hardly worth starting a new thread. we had this massive Persian carpet at the V&A. Very old & delicate. Most in darkness in a huge sealed glass case. Lights came on a timed switch came on every 20 minutes, for 2 minutes. I liked to go to the Brompton Oratory garden on my lunch break. Would come back through the main entrance, say hello to the lovely Gerkha security lads & lasses & go see if the carpet lights were on. Often, not. One time Murray was there, with his sister, I think. Looking resplendent. Waiting for the lights to come on. Wouldn’t normally bother a celebrity, but had to tell him ‘A Taste of Honey’ is my 3rd favourite film. What are you top 2 he asked. Kes & Ratcather, I replied. ‘Lovely’ said Melvin. Then the lights came on & I left them to it, went back to work. Funny, what you remember.
