Surely it's easier to be the gallant victor?

Should have run him out no question about it.

Should have run him out then let the umpire make the decision as to whether it's a legitimate wicket or not surely?

Just don’t get it, there was no foul play the guy fell over, run him out, I would.
Still remember having a go with our captain when I was a young fast baller, I’d been sweating my nuts off trying to get this big West Indian dude out ( and he was a good bi hitter) anyway when he was at the non striker end when the other batsman hit one down the track hit my foot onto the wicket and as far as I was concerned he was backing up and out so I appealed Anyway my captain said it was harsh and to the batsman’s bewilderment called him back.
OK it was a friendly but if I’m playing I’m playing to win so if looks could have killed! :p

Also those who backed Yorkshire to win. What next? A keeper fumbles a ball in to the net and the scoring team allows the opposition to run through for a tap in? Mistakes happen in all sports. It's part of the game and you take advantage of it. I would go as far as to not let Root captain the team in the future and management should be having a quiet word to him about it. We should have gone against the captain and run him out against orders.

I suppose they weren't expecting the play acting. Cricket is supposed to be a gentleman's game after all!!

All this nonsense has to stop. Same in football. Let the ref stop the game. If he feels necessary. Can’t stand the booing of players carrying on playing instead of kicking the ball out. When it’s obvious someone is taking the p155.
If it’s such a gentleman’s game. (Cricket) Croft should have left the field, he admitted he panicked, slipped and developed cramp. Joe did what he thought was right in the circumstances at that moment. Croft did not.
Mark Butcher was the only one on the commentary team to get it right.
We will never know what the outcome of the result would have been. Had Croft walked. But it would have made it a tadge more difficult for lancs.
we lost the game during BOTH powerplays.

Should’ve run him out, but he wasn’t play acting, just pulled up with cramp.

Think the rolling around was a bit of theatre.

Possibly. But i find it hard to believe that with 15 needed off 18 with 5 wickets in hand, that a player 200+ games into his t20 career, without any questions of his integrity, would now become so desperate that he would feign injury thinking that it would save his wicket.

But he should’ve run him out, and if he then felt it was right then he could’ve withdrawn the appeal. Once it’s called a dead ball, there’s nowhere to go with it.
