Has left his job as goalkeeper coach at Sunderland, to take up the role at non league Wrexham. https://www.wrexhamafc.co.uk/news/staff-news-lee-butler-joins-as-goalkeeping-coach
Even allowing for the fact that his old mates Phil Parkinson & Steve Parkin are now in charge at Wrexham, it surprised me that Butler was willing to leave employment at Sunderland to drop down to Wrexham in order to do the same job.
Great he’s back in football, I wasn’t even aware he was at Sunderland. Around about ten years ago, I dropped on Lee, on a building site. He was plastering.
Exciting times at Wrexham at the moment with Ryan Reynolds taking over and the whole thing being documented for TV. Could all end in tears and I wouldn’t really be bothered about it happening at Oakwell, but I can certainly see the attraction for people to get involved in the project. Good luck to Lee, was one of my favourite Barnsley keepers.
Agreed, it does seem a bit strange to be dropping down to non league from Sunderland. He must have good reasons though. Steve Parkin *shudders*
Yes, apparently he was told by his doctor to stay as far away from football as possible....so he went to Sunderland
Is he after a role in a Ryan Reynolds movie to drop down a few leagues Parkinson and Parkin won't have come cheap for division five.
