    Southgate has to take the blame I’m afraid, as good as he has done his conservative play cost him. Held back second half , then horrible choice of penalty takers.
    That’s not to say he hasn’t done well but for me he cocked up tonight

    It really hasn't Marc. People are just making fairly obvious observations on what has happened. That was a game we could have won with the right attitude.

    Southgate still hasn’t learned from the WC semi defeat to Croatia. Tonight’s performance just mirrored it. We had to be braver and get at them for a second goal that would’ve killed the game. You can’t let a side like Italy dictate game like we did.
    Don’t get me started on the choice of pen takers, bizarre in the extreme. As for stuttering run ups…..why???? And 3 of them too!!!

    There's about two embarrassing comments.
    As for the rest it's just pointing out the obvious. We were on top for the first twenty odd minutes, creating openings, looking likely to score a second then we went into our shell, sacrificed everything to keeping our shape and lost the initiative. When Italy finally and predictably equalised we'd totally lost our way. A glorious opportunity thrown away.

    Domestic violence rates increase massively at times like this. I hope everyone who’s feeling a bit angry and have probably had a drink or ten gets themselves off to bed and doesn’t take it out on anyone else.

    I know these lovely hard men who can't get it in their thick skulls we had a 50% chance tonight. I'd happily explain to anyone who raises a hand to woman the folly of their ways. Might add to a few new arrivals at Barnsley general if I'm honest. I tolerate some things but not that.
