Simple question will Val play vertical football or change his style tovsuit thebplayers he niw has?

Did he play the lump it quick football because of our squad or is that just how he plays?

I know we can only wait and see but i think he is in for a tough ride if he plays yhe same way he did with us.

He has said he has taken Mowatt to help the club buy into his style of play. So vertical football it is. Back to one trick pony.

It'll be interesting to observe from a distance. On signing Mowatt he's been quoted as saying:

"Signing Alex is important to help the team understand the principles of our play. It will give the guys more confidence and understanding of how we want to play. It will be easier for them to follow him."

Sounds like more of the same.

If he doesn't change his tactics. They'll struggle to make the top 6. The more the (last) season went on, teams had worked us out to a degree where they knew where our weaknesses lay. Wendy's a prime example. Collins became a lot more erratic as the last defender, so to speak. That's why I'm encouraged about the new guy. Given what I've read, re changing tactics to suit. We can play different styles as proved against Bournemouth. A tactic I believe would have served Val well. If we'd adopted it more often. Not so sure West Brom. Have the players to play vals high press. Its built around youth and supreme fitness and enthusiasm.
And of course 5 subs. Don't know if that will continue.

Probably not. But who cares? He's gone and we move on. We all need to get behind Markus, make the bloke feel at home. Got a good feeling about him.

If he doesn't get off to a good start West Brom fans won't put up with his lump it football, especially if the fans are back in grounds.

You couldn’t possibly have watched all the games then, because if you did and still come to that conclusion, then it appears you have a very limited knowledge of the game

I think he will still want to get the ball forward as quickly as possible, but don’t think it will be quite as much hoof as we have been playing.

The big test will be can he get them organised in the high press and the triggers involved, as well as getting the team to the fitness levels involved.

One thing he definitely won’t have this season is the element of surprise and hopefully no one more than us should know what his thoughts are and how best to go about beat his style of play.

He got a team of inexperienced players to 5th in the league , if he can get the players at WBA to buy into the system I think they will do well , I wouldn’t say WBA have been known over the years for tippy tappy football

My money is on West Brom to go straight back up. He'll still employ the same, direct football but he's now working with a completely different class of players. If he did what he did with us, well...

He'd have had the same problem here, if he had stayed.

Not sure but why should we care what WBA style of play is ? Personally couldn’t give a flying
