What I don’t get is how they feel the need to put tennis on both one and two all day, I don’t know when ti have my lunch as they had taken bargain hunt off
There’s not many sports I can’t watch, tennis is close to unwatchable a lot of the time. A lot of points are either over in 2 seconds or turn into repetitive slog fests designed to exploit the “wait for them to make a mistake” school of winning. Then there’s the grunting and screaming-does my head in.
Seeing as football has overtaken all the programming I don't see how anyone can complain about Wimbledon. Good match last night with Andy Murray.
I'll have a quick watch of the women's singles if Laura's out. Otherwise I just watch it until Murray gets knocked out. I tuned in while he was getting his arse kicked and then saw the result later.
The main thing I don't understand is when they show tennis all day on BBC one and move all their BBC one shows to BBC two. Why not just put the tennis on BBC two?
It's because Wimbledon is the BBC's flagship event. Stiff upper lip, middle Englander's, Jam and Jerusalem.
I'd had a hectic day sorting daughter no.2 out, so drifted off for a bit of the 5th set but woke up in time to see him win! Obviously far from his peak but his battling qualities are still there.
Tennis rule changes: Only 1 serve allowed. Only one ball bounce allowed. Only one grunt per point allowed otherwise the player has to wear a gag (that was suggested by the current Mrs DR).
