    Hope it lasts longer than their match at Trent Bridge last night. They got 80 odd in 20 overs and Notts polished them off before the end of their 7th.

    I used to enjoy trips to New Road many years ago when I lived in Gloucester. Worcestershire had great players like Graeme Hick and Neale Radford then and were a good Sunday League side.

    Not seen tonight’s team yet but I hope I shall enjoy my first look at Joe Root. I know I criticised him earlier in these games but I know he’s a great player.

    Root and Brook are going to have to get us out of trouble like last game. With last Sunday and the three this week we play the bottom four in four games in a row, so couldn't have asked for better when losing four players to England.

    Absolutely brutal batting at the end from Thompson and Brook. I thought Worcestershire were going to do to us what Notts did to them last night.

    Quite remarkable how easy batting can look once you’ve got going! Big mistake taking Pennington off having got 4 for 3 in his first 3, then got whacked for 21 in his last. He tried to break that partnership and failed like his team mates.

    Now then boys - roll them over! It’s very cold here by the way
