What a shame- easily the best music venue in Barnsley. Polish Club didn't showcase cover bands. Loads of local Indie bands writing their own music appeared there. Some talented musicians appeared and the majority commented on how brilliant the sound system was.
Now’t to do with fashionable, I’ve been picking the guitar up and throwing it back down, for more years than I care to remember
Noticed over the weekend that it had reopened. No idea if its the same couple or if it would continue to be a live music place. Good news though imo
They appear to be booking 'higher standard' (more expensive) acts, see link below for confirmed ones so far https://www.list.co.uk/place/90058-old-school-house-venue-barnsley/
I think they're doing a mixture of events, some of the 'old type' activities will still happen there. For example we're due to play later this month (dunno how tonight's proclamation will impact that), but Besar (formerly Richard Kitson Trio) are doing an album launch there in September. Besar might be, be we're not a 'higher' standard ask @Jay
TBF those that I spoke to that saw her at Birdwell. a couple of years back. Said She was brilliant. For someone of her Standing I reckon it's not too ott. It's a small venue so should sell out at that.
If you've seen any of her videos during lockdown you'll have noted that she does like to get her t1ts out. So it's a fiver for "I want to be free" and 21 quid for a pair of quite old but very well maintained bosoms. I want to be free and it's a mystery are probably overpriced at a fiver, but you'll struggle to only pay a pony to get an hour of C list Bristols of that calibre.
Warehouse 23 in Wakefield City Centre is also closed with no great potential for someone else to take over. Great shame also
