Romal Palmer, Callum Styles, Christie Davies, Herbie Kane. I'd say a new left back was priority and getting Styles into central midfield alongside Kane or Mowatt's replacement.
On his he can be a rolls Royce but during the latter part of his loan we tended to see more Austin Allegro
Unless we go up, I really can't see us being able to hold onto Styles. We'd have to sell a couple to generate funds for the next wave and if mid championship clubs don't have the abilities or confidence to pay what they have previously, it's players like Helik and Styles that will likely be next in line to leave, hopefully for very significant amounts.
With respect. By some yes. I personally would not like to see him back at the expense of others, in the squad, who are chomping at the bit to establish themselves. Not only that. I have this gut feeling. Mowatt will sign a new contract. Or maybe false hope.
TBH Stephen, I believe. Left back is covered. Ben and Jordan Williams. Were/are coming along nicely. There are 15 defenders in the squad. Not sure of everyone’s individual positions.
Spot on. These are exciting times at the club. We'll no doubt have new targets that we're looking at anyway.
Honestly, it baffles me with clubs like that. I've no doubt they'll sign someone this summer who will make me think, 'how have they afforded that'?
I'd love to see James come back, but I'm guessing we'll be looking at other targets instead. If Mowatt doesn't stay then we'll need to sign 2 centre mids - he'd be great alongside a younger option
Neither are good enough really, but until players are moved on we can't really afford to overload the squad. I do however think Jordan Williams is a decent back up.
J. Williams was one of the better players for us before his injury, did brilliant. Think after a decent run of games perhaps he can regain some old form - but with our current lot it'll be very hard to give him that game time!
https://www.bristolpost.co.uk/sport.../bristol-city-nigel-pearson-leicester-5451963 Bristol City are after him. I suspect they won't be alone. I would have him back here too.
Amazing how contracts coming to an end seem to inspire players. Id be happy for us to sign him if his wages were sensible
If we cannot afford to keep Mowatt despite offering him the highest wage in the clubs history to stay then there is no way we will be looking at Matty James.
