I can buy a bag of cement, went to KDA at Dodworth asked a young man at the entrance he said they have not had any for months but had that posthole cement and that's no good to mix with sand, then went to Wick's looking round I asked an attendant he said they have none and at the moment it's like rocking horse *****.

You’re welcome and glad you’re sorted.
It’s changing hands for silly money on eBay due to the shortage, in the same way that plaster was this time last year. But that’s folk cashing in on other’s desperation. I won’t be doing that.

No your wrong Skinner they do not have any bags of cement I mean pure cement what you mix with sand they have bags already mixed which is very different and for me not half as good as when you mix it yourself.

I've chalked $hit on getting any work done now, for another 12 months. Every time I've tried getting some work done I've had 'looking at 6 months for a start pal', or 'not gonna be cheap, materials are through the roof'. First it was 'Brexit pal, can't get stuff imported'. Then it was 'Covid pal, can't get stuff delivered'. Then it was 'Suez pal, all the materials have been held up'. One person who quoted a job 3 months ago, doubled it when I went back to get it booked in. When I asked him why his day rate had doubled in 3 months, I got 'having to cover my costs pal, everything's gone through the roof'. The two jobs I did manage to get booked in, just didn't turn up.

I'm sure there's lots of good guys out there, but it's fair to say everyone I've dealt with over the least year have been profiteering tw&ts
