I went to see Chubby Brown as a seventeen year old in the late seventies. All I can remember was he wasn't funny and I was genuinely embarrassed by his cringeworthy disgusting "humour".
I have a really strong memory of being at my best friend's family bbq when I was about 15 (this was early 2000s though, not seventies). All the adults were absolutely pissed out of their heads and there was a Chubby Brown CD playing on repeat that they were all singing along to. I remember really clearly being disgusted by it and thinking about inappropriate it was, especially where there were kids there of all ages. My mate's mum ended up wetting herself and having to be put to bed by my mate and me and all the adults laughed at me and said I was stuck up because I refused to drink with them when all the other older (about 13+ kids) were and carried on all afternoon trying to make me. Absolute worst day ever and I excused myself from all other of their family functions. My mate tried for ages to get me to go abroad with them but I couldn't think of anything worse than being trapped in Spain with them (they go abroad as a group of around 20-30 of them) for 2 weeks.
I was pretty much an outcast at school in the late 80s, cos I didn’t find him funny in any way. Even more tragically, there’s a Chubby Brown tribute act. Just think about that.
Shows too how good a job Sedgy does as well, bringing someone in and giving them lots of opportunities to shine. Keep up the great work to them both, absolute quality staff.
She's a top professional. Our recovery record from injury tells me that, plus her attitude. Another reason for liking her is that she reminds me so much of my daughter - dedicated Tyke and also full of drive, care for others and sheer guts in a competitive environment.
