    Always feel for the lads that’s been let go especially the young ones .
    Hope they use this to drive them on in future and just because they havnt made it at Barnsley doesn’t mean they won’t
    Jamie Vardy is a prime example of it never being too late and our own Jacob Brown had to move from Hillsborough to further his career .

    The only slight surprise there is Dan Bramall as it looked like he was close to a first team call up at one point. Good luck to Dan and the rest of the boys being released. I hope they find some other club soon.

    It's a rare end of season with so few contracts lapsing from the first team pool.

    A little surprised Bramall, Kendrick and Addai have been released, Bramall especially as he seemed to be getting rave reviews and scoring aplenty before he went out on loan.

    I think with Bramall is that he’s 22 and never been near the first team. There’s a huge gap between the 23s and men’s football.

    I’m not really surprised by any of that in all honesty.

    I’m a little surprised both Henry Kendrick and Corey Addai are going - leaves us short of pro goalkeepers.

    Two of the three u18 keepers are retained but the other, Harry Widdop, also leaves.

    There must be some incoming, as we can’t go into next season with Collins, Walton, plus 18 year old Archie Brown and 17 year old Kieran Flavell.

    Brilliant news this, feel for young lads but no first teamer is significant and I was worried if anyone potentially starting Monday might be released and the impact on their mindset.

    I was thinking his name seemed to feature in the U23s write ups a lot.

    They let Jake Greatorex go as well and I assumed that was because they considered Hendrick to be better.

    New keeper to be signed in close season? Keepers may not have to fit the under-25 rule and there are a lot of good ones around for small/no fees and not exorbitant wages. Jamal Blackman anyone? Good sweeper/ keeper. Any others?

    Let's hope we win promotion, so those leaving can put on their CV's "released by premier league new boys Barnsley". It may help them find clubs a little bit further up the football pyramid. Good luck guys!

    Maybe they thought they were first team material but not getting the chances, so the club released them rather than having disgruntled people in the camp?

    We have got an absolutely massive squad with so many youth players in and around the first team pool, so these coaches are going to have a fair idea how likely someone may be to break through or not.

    Totally agree, if anyone shows potential for first team football I'm sure they'd have been given a chance. The coaching staff have shown exactly that with Moon.
