I agree they all do though don't they maybe thats the reason he saw his best days with us? Some players minght lose the incentive when you've been given a 3 year deal on 20k a week I don't know. Was good for us though in the promotion season from league one a little under rated by many always gave his best plenty of assists and goals.
I liked Watkins when we had him as he was a fantastic team player. Ran himself into the ground supporting Winnall or his full back if he was on the wing but he clearly was more of a grafter than a quality championship player. Norwich probably looked at him & thought ‘free agent, ideal as back up if any of our wingers or forwards are out’. Bristol probably thought the same. He’ll have been on wages that were too much for us but probably small for them. He’ll probably join a Luton, Millwall, Coventry type championship club or have to drop into league one now on less money but will play more. Funny old game.
Laughing. Right, that's it, I'm leaving, and I'm never coming back to this pub again. And to ensure I don't I'm going to have to blow it up.

One of those players, like Scowen, who I always thought were ‘Barnsley’ players. Similar in ability wise to Hassell, O’Brien, Foster but no better than our level. Shame that money has corrupted the game so much that they get paid fair more to he in the reserves for Norwich than first team at Barnsley.
I liked Watkins for the reasons mentioned in this thread - always worked hard, dod the graft that someone has to do. Lacked a bit of end product, but he slotted into the team we had at the time. Yes he handed in a transfer request, but he continued to do his job and work hard for the remainder of that season. Good luck to him.
