IMPORTANT TICKETING NEWS Club News Whilst we still await clarity from governing bodies regarding the attendance of supporters at Oakwell for our Play-Off fixture against Swansea City on 17 May, Barnsley FC would like to issue the following information. Continue reading on the official site...
I know I'm a bit thick but does this mean that the draw takes place on Thursday so you've got two days to put your name in or that it is a fluid ballot that takes place over the two days culminating in the last names pulled out on Thursday?
The ST bit still sits uneasy with me. They should have added a line 'we are sorry to all those who spent £460 watching all games this season and look forward to your continued custom next season'
Why does ST sit uneasy? Haven't season ticket holders had priority for every play off game weve ever been involved in?
This season ticket holder also paid £ 10 a match for the away games , I paid the extra because I wanted to watch the games not to qualify for a ticket draw but thats how it is , there are more fans than there are tickets so this is the only fair way otherwise if it was a free for all then everyone would be up in arms if they do not get selected
Good question. If payment is taken Wednesday 12th straight after, it implies the ballot is taking place during the 24hrs its open or immediately after the noon close. The Thursday date / time seems ti implied only that people will be informed before then. It will I presume be a digital algorithm ballot and the names will be known within seconds.
I read it as, you've to put your name in the hat, so to speak, between midday tomorrow and midday Wednesday. Then they'll start drawing the ballot Wednesday, and everyone will be informed by Thursday.
As a Reserved+ member, I'd be livid if I wasn't at, or near, the top of the priority list when it comes to limited tickets. I don't expect to get in - a lottery is a lottery - but I don't believe any non season ticket-holder should be in front of me. I put my money down, not knowing whether I could watch any matches from the stadium, and not knowing whether we'd finish 1st or 24th. If the possibility of a reward is there because of that, I don't apologise for thinking I should be prioritised.
Loko has just posted a thread with an faq from the meeting earlier. It answers quite a few questions. http://barnsleyfc.org.uk/threads/playoff-ticket-news-update-q-a-from-tonights-fans-forum.304444/
I respect that response and in this crazy season (or 2) I would have to agree. Fair play. In normal times though, would stick closer to my original feeling on the subject.
I’m wondering how the ballot will work as 4500 individuals are going to need a lot more space than 750 groups of 6.
I'm wondering if its just simpler to stay at home and watch on the screen, as per the last year. I'm as keen as the next loyal fan to get back in "my seat" but not like this
You are right. The maximum capacity will only be achieved with larger groups so include as many as possible in your application.
