Officially over 10,000 sold so far, and it’s only the 2nd week of May. Brilliant effort. If we stay in the Champ, it’d be nice to see us sell 13k-14k. If we go up - well, I suppose they’ll be capped at 16k. Allowing a small amount of pay on the day and reduced capacity for media and additional camera requirements etc.
What's Oakwell's current actual capacity? I know it's circa 23k officially, but what is it without half of the West and SYP blocking us from using some of the East and away stand?
The early bird prices ended on 30th April. If we remain in the Championship we may sell a few more tickets but not many.
It’s capacity based on concourse sizes not actual seating capacity ain’t it? Basically it’ll be 1,100 fans per stand.
Official capacity is circa 23k. Usable with segregation and increased media desks in West Stand as it is now, I’d say more like 21.5k. If we get promoted, I reckon we’ll lose another 1k to new cameras and increased media allowance. So we’ll be 20k all seater in terms of fans. That’s the issue with the West Stand - if we did ever renew it - it has to allow for future possibilities in terms of increased media etc. It can’t really be any smaller overall. Realistically, a 25k all-seater would suit us long term.
