We lost 2-0 at home to Crewe. And we were gash. A week later we blew Birmingham away in the play offs.

I didn't watch the game yesterday. I didn't even look out for the score. We've been chasing something for months and we've finally caught it. We're not going to keep on running.

There's a new goal just on the horizon, but yesterday had nothing to do with that. Nor did it have anything to do with what we've been doing for months. It was meaningless. Analysis is pointless. The benchmark for success was no injuries and no suspensions.

Completely agree I couldn’t be less arsed about yesterday’s game. Same again against Norwich, just as long as we don’t get battered summat daft we’ll be reyt.

It’s not so much yesterday’s game that concerns me, it’s the general decline in performance over the last few weeks. We’ve been comfortably beaten by Sheffield Wednesday and Coventry, and the Rotherham match should have gone the same way. I felt the Preston shoreline was a little harsh, although we rarely troubled them before the final 15 minutes.

The goals have dried up, and the defence has started to look frail. The ‘smothering’ high press feels like a distant memory. On the plus side, there have been a few moments where we’ve tried to play football, rather than just mindlessly punting it into the opponent’s half.

Anything can happen in the playoffs, but I think we might have peaked too early.

I may have remembered this incorrectly but wasn't one of the reasons we blew Birmingham away was a change in formation and I'd be surprised if we pulled that rabbit out of the bag again.

We weren’t even that bad yesterday. Switched off a bit from two set pieces but in open play I wouldn’t say we were much worse than we have been most of the season. Could’ve easily gone the other way.

It wasn’t like the Coventry game for example.

A bit more switched on & we keep a clean sheet yesterday, when the adrenaline’s pumping for the play offs I’m sure we’ll be a bit sharper

I'd certainly be taken aback if we start against Brentford or Swansea with Robin vat of Lard up front.

I took no interest in the game yesterday. I still don't know who scored, when, or how.

As for recent form... I wouldn't put it past Big Val to be playing a football equivalent of the rope a dope boxing trick. Bloke's a genius.
