Altior (Sandown 3.05) People have written him off after defeat at Christmas but he was giving Nube Negra 6 lbs and he has won the last three runnings of this race. 5/2 is fair enough against the Irish raider. Faylaq (Ripon 3.15) Intriguing that Jim Crowley goes up to Ripon and I think this lad will have the class edge over the Johnson runner. Faylaq is a course and distance winner. He is 11/8 in what should be a two horse race (famous last words!) Beyond that, I like Barnsley and Watford in a double at just over 6/4. COYR! (and Hornets!)

Norwich are on the beach, and QPR are one of the most in-form teams in the Championship. The bookies are no mugs.
My apologies, mon ami! It is a percentages game, I'm afraid. Where: strike rate (as a %) > average price of winners (as a %) = Profit. It is a long game! Altior won the battle but lost the war. He took on the lead from the off, jumped superbly and ran the Irish-trained favourite to a standstill, but having done the donkey work (ha!) was unable to repel the challenge of the younger pretender from the Nicholls stable, finishing second. The evidence is now mounting that Altior is no longer capable of reproducing his very best form. He has earned honourable retirement. Faylaq was also second, which was disappointing given that he could have been expected to come on for his seasonal debut. The Johnston horse was fitter, and comfortably saw him off in the home straight. 2,000 and 1,000 Guineas next weekend, and Chester in the week thereafter. Onwards and upwards!
I had £20 on Enrillo at 9/2. I couldn't give a toss about ammended result. Paid out first past the post.
I had the double, plus I linked us and Watford with Juddy for the snooker - which is looking handy now!
