Didn,t see last nights game or sundays game but according to this board we were crap on sunday and good last night. But spoke to someone this morning and he said after not seeing sundays game it must have been bad because we were rubbish last night.Only solly having a half decent game.
Played really well last night in my eyes They couldn't handle Morris, Palmer and Solly were both top drawer, Mowatt wasn't his usual stupidly high level but was absolutely everywhere, Brittain was close to his usual standard, defence looked assured. Etc etc We had some really good chances and 3 or 4 nil wouldn't have flattered us Way, way better than Sunday
Mark Robins had done his homework on us and stopped us breaking down the flanks and had the big defenders to nullify our strikers. Against Coventry we were not that bad but they knew how to play against us and we're able to defend their lead and catch us on the break. We were better last night but Huddersfield didn't have much threat up front and Sollbauer kept us in the game until we got our noses in front. One worry, we should have had more goals last night given the chances we created. Woodrow and Mowatt seem to have lost their shooting boots.
We lacked quality up front, apart from Dike’s moment of magic, the scoreline flattered Huddersfield, but the way they set up played into our hands, so we were dominant. They posed us little threat. I expect Rotherham to be a tougher game.
We were excellent last night and, as has been said by others, the scoreline flattered Huddersfield. If some folk are still unhappy with our performance yesterday, a win away from home at local rivals, a clean sheet and six points clear in the Play Offs, then I can't help but think they've following a totally different agenda.
We were really good. Less hoofball than recently, with some really decent football. Morris was so good that at times it looked like we were playing with a left-winger. Think the 7-1 game, but with only the one goal. You need to ask your mate about the match stats. Palmer was good. Styles and Brittain were back to near-normal levels. Sollbauer was different gravy. Morris, Dike were outstanding and it was Woodrows best performance in weeks. And it was against Town. What more could you want!!
Agreed mate. Last night was the most one sided 1-0 victory you could witness. If the score had been 4 or 5, one would have said Yeah, that's about a fair reflection on the game.
Correct mate, Brizzle only had one shot on target. But last nights performance from us was much more dominant
One of our best performances of the season for me. The score hugely flattered Huddersfield, lucky to get nil as they say.
I like being a Barnsley fan. For over 50 years I know we’ve no divine right to win every week and understand that sometime we will be rubbish and I’ll be frustrated. BUT times like now make it all worth while - just remember that we are out performing most teams in the 4th or 5th most competitive league in Europe.
Best performance I've ever seen was against Bristol City in 2007 we won 3-0 and it was total bombardment for 90 minutes.
