If British, Italian and Spanish all boycotted it that would make a massive dent in their viewing figures wouldn't it?

Not surprised France & Germany fecked it off. They are countries that still value the working class people. Italy & Spain hardly have a good track record.

It seems to me that maybe there's a bit of a sea change that may take the greed six by surprise. The opposition to this is almost universal and a substantial percentage of English football fans seem happy to call their bluff and cut them out of our game completely. I, for one, would much rather they took their cheating, dubious ownership, contempt for fans elsewhere and left us to reconstruct a league system based on fair principles that allow competition and aspiration.

the problem being is that they don’t care, enough “fans” will still watch, enough broadcasters will still pay to show it.

they claim the top 6 account for 80% of tv revenue generated, they constantly asked for more as they “earn” it for the rest. I’ve got a feeling the PL will be ok without them... time for new heroes, time for new clubs to grow globally. Fück the top 6.

I suspect it’s not the market they are aiming for. It would have an impact but not enough. Good riddance to em.

If that's a new banner then it is a total disgrace.

Are fans not going to be allowed into the new super league matches?

When is this new proposed league supposed to begin ? If it next season then the premier league should kick them out straight away & if it is due to begin the following season give them 12 months notice to quit the premier league . On a more serious note , why is it not 7 clubs from England , why have the Massives from Sheffield 6 not been invited ? one of the biggest clubs in the world being overlooked , unbelievable Geoff

Not the top 6 though and that's why they are doing it. They realise that the PL has become too volatile, that they are getting beat by upstarts, so they want to corner the market, make it uncompetitive, syphon off more money into their own accounts.

That's why it should be killed.

But it should not stop there, a restructure of the game is required, fans should have a say, these are community assets.

It works in Germany, why not here?

I think the 'big 6' are actually posturing for a bigger share of the EPL pie. They don't like the fact that money in the top division is reasonably evenly distributed, this makes it more competitive and reduces their chances of playing in the top European competition, which diminishes their ability to sign top players.

I think its gone way beyond posturing. They've signed agreements it seems. I think I heard that the allocation of monies has been tweaked recently to account for "history"... which could well be an extra slice for the greedy to keep them sweet.

I actually think they are less likely to get a bigger slice now, if they are even allowed to retain a PL place. I'd certainly not be encouraging more greed after their acts. And more money to those suffering from greed will never succeed. They always want more.

Not arguing against, but a genuine question (not that you'd know). What's the duration of any cooling off period within the agreement they signed?

Obviously we've no way of knowing unless the contracts get leaked into the public domain and i think thats highly unlikely.

FIFA and UEFA seem to have given a soft ultimatum. And will be interesting to see what the Premier league clubs state after their meeting today. If they take a hard line (though they'd need all 14 to do that, so it seems unlikely) and kick them out, I can't see these clubs doing an about face.

Proper bunch of cowards, all that money and a supposed desire to "support football" yet not a squeak out of any of them apart form the Real Madrid guy. Instead they've left their managers and players to face the flack.

If nothing else (which it clearly isnt) it's an absolute PR disaster and no way to be trying to get something like this off the ground.
