44 goals conceded in 40 games at championship level seems pretty good and I'm content with that. Our goals for seems to be the metric thats a bit low for a 5th place team at this point, but then looking at other teams around us, not that many have scored tonnes. Maybe its a low scoring season? Though i'd suspect our goals per game has increased since we brought in Dike and Morris to supplement, rather than Miller, Thomas and Schmidt.
I get what you're saying, but for a team in the top 5, it doesn't really suggest that we've allowed the fewest shots on target. I know we've come a long way in a short space of time, and we should be happy at the progress, but the actual stat of allowing the fewest shots on target and still not the best defence in the top half of the table is something to be working on
Just looked at goals conceded under Ismael, and we're averaging less than a goal a game. Goals for, 1.31 goals a game. In the last 10 games, averaging 1.8 goals for, 0.9 against. So definitely heading in the right direction. I suspect because of the high line, when it does fail, we probably allow chances with a higher probability of scoring.
34 conceded in 33 games under VI. In any case I'm just enjoying the ride and the fantastic season we're having. Certainly beats being in the bottom 3 and trying to escape relegation...
