I get that. All of it. But for that fee with what we pay we'd surely expect more. It is pocket fluff..... I get that in terms of Championship signings. But you could add a Connor + Scowen + Watkins and a Winnall together ....... There's definitely a player there but we need to see it and we haven't for 'reasons'. I'd love him to come good and see him as a hero. 10-15-20 mins here and there just doesn't cut it for me. Just been brutally honest but he custard pies me straight
Kane was the stand out player for Donny in that same division

Played 40 odd games and built his stock. I'm not slating anyone if they're injured. I'm really not. But for 1.25 quid we've had a season of nowt from him really. ..... again I'll say I hope he proves me wrong. I really do. But I've seen nowt up to now to see why he's our most expensive signing since Ward (I think) in 1997.

I’d be willing to give him as long as Hourihane and Mowatt both took. Neither were instant hits and came into their own a level lower.

    Surely this is a joke?

Palmer has been fantastic for his full debut season, bar the odd game or 2 in the last few week. First half against Luton he played 2 unbelievably good through balls. Getting better with the tackles too imo, knowing when to go in and when to track more.
As for Halme, he hasn't had a lot of game time at all, and id suggest he's done exactly what Val put him on for; physicality in midfield, tough tackler and isnt scared to put himself about, especially during scrappy games.

We have yet to see the best of Kane but I remain optimistic that he has what it takes.

Palmer has been excellent but if we do need an alternative I would like to see Styles play central with either Williams or Oduor at wing back.

Hasn't Palmer laiked every single game? Pretty regular to me.

But it doesn't matter what we've spent on players in the past. Unless it's someone in the last 6 months of their contract, £1.25m will rarely get you a midfielder that will come in and make an instant impact at this level. He was bought under the model of developing players, we need to allow him time to develop.

Don’t think he’s been that bad. It’s hard because whenever he comes into the team you subconsciously are comparing him to Mowatt & no one we sign is likely to equal or better his performances.

If Mowatt leaves & Kane takes over that role & is the key player that everything goes through & takes set pieces then I think he’ll improve a lot.

I wouldn’t be panicking about the fee been a waste of money just yet & I’d also say his first year with us has been a lot better than Mowatt’s first year with us.

Did letting Matty James go pave the way for us to change the style to the high line high press, get the ball forward fast way we play? Did our style of play change much when James left and as good as he was he would never be fit enough for our side?

Kane is doing fine we have to let him develop.

Coventry not pulling any trees up - that said he’ll probably score when we play them
