But it doesn't fill me with confidence when the UK's chief medical officer, leading epidemiologist and key member of the government's strategy for the response to covid refers to it as an epidemic when everyone in the country knows it's a pandemic. If he gets the basics wrong what else is he messing up?

I remember it being 15 million vaccines to freedom. I also remember vaccines being the way out. Now it's spend billions testing healthy people who may have had two jabs.
The goal posts constantly being moved by the useless government and the billions this flimsy idea will cost that would be better spent elsewhere instead of testing healthy vaccinated people a couple of times a week incase they might have caught it. Obviously vaccines are the way out. And goalposts will move constantly in a situation like this. If you went back to March 2020, would you be expected to know how to make decisions today?
