No idea how it ended up on there but I can’t believe they just showed the ‘tale of the tape’ type image and Herring had no belts and Frampton was holding two of them. Very strange.

They have got Buncey and Josh Taylor though so a promising start.

Hope that Frampton wins, but I think father time might have caught up with him.

Doubt we’ll see Frampton again, Herring bigger stronger and faster.

Thought it was Frampton cashing out and so it proved. Frampton isn’t strong enough to be up at Super Featherweight - especially against someone so skilled and as rangey as Herring, who really shrinks down to the weight anyway.

Boxing isn’t the same without a crowd.

Channel 5 only got the fight a few days ago & the set up reflects that. Looks like it could be in a marquee in any of our back gardens.

If I was a fighter I’d steer well clear of Jamie Moore. Every fighter who goes with him seems to regress.

He hasn't been the same since he got shut of Barry Mcguigan and his son who gave him his best performances and best pay days.

The setup is terrible. Why is it in Dubai? Could have had a crowd in Texas or Florida.

Not sure about Jamie Moore’s training ability yet. I feel like Frampton peaked in the first Santa Cruz fight which was a massive upset and a great fight in my eyes and has just chased a path of money and ‘big fights’ rather than trying to build anything. Really was a mismatch in there tonight.

From what I could gather US tv wouldn’t put up the money to have it over there as Herring’s not really a draw & Warren couldn’t afford to put it on in UK / Ireland without fans so the promoters ended up been Daniel Kinahan the drug dealer who’s based out there.

I think it’s a combination of factors - Moore instead of McGuigan as his trainer, the size of Herring & no fans.

But I also think his mentality has been all wrong. Constantly talking about retirement. It reminds me a bit of Groves before the Callum Smith fight. Your trainer & the people around you need to be drumming that out of you.

Really rate McGuigan as a trainer. He’s only going to get better the more fights he’s involved in as well but his fighters tend to always perform and look like they have a game plan. Not sure what Frampton’s strategy was tonight because everyone knew what Herring was going to bring. Strong as an ox and sharp shooting from distance.

My personal thoughts on Frampton are that I’ve never really known how good he is. That Santa Cruz fight was unreal and he deserved to win, but outside of that he wasn’t convincing against Quigg, lost to Warrington, and has been made of glass for the last four years too. Done very, very well for himself always positioning himself as big attraction and using the weight as an excuse to keep getting the big fights. He didn’t really earn this one tonight and no surprise that he lost.

I think because of his build he was a fighter that should’ve really stayed at Super Bantam. He didn’t have the frame to carry the weight. The Santa Cruz fight made sense in the weight above as Santa Cruz was also a smaller fighter moving up but Warrington is a huge feather weight & Herring is a massive super feather weight.

I thought he boxed really well against Quigg. Was helped by Quigg’s bizarre strategy of not engaging for 7 rounds but Frampton just did enough to keep banking the rounds & then after Quigg had a couple of good rounds I thought he slowed him down with body shots to take the last couple.

He was definitely a top quality super bantamweight for me but I don’t think he was world class when he moved up in weight.

Never seen the attraction in Frampton. But I watched it anyway and it looked from very early on that he was likely to be stopped. The cut made things interesting though.

Nice to see a fight on terrestrial TV for once, but the state of that venue, my god. I’m with Loko. Without crowds, boxing really isn’t the same.

Compare that to the Whyte/Povetkin card last week and you’d think it was some amateur boxing night at Light Waves in Wakefield. So poor. Need the crowd to have the energy.

I don't think Herring is close to elite level at all but very good performance from him I was impressed with how sensible be boxed. I thought he looked like an improved fighter to be honest. I still think he's there for the taking for Shakur or Valdez but hey, that was impressive regardless of the huge size advantage. Very disappointed that Turavov-McKenna was cancelled, I think that would've made it an all round very good card. Kulakhmet and Keyshawn Davis were impressive.

Did anyone catch the DAZN Uzbek show? Disappointing I think.
Then on the RJJ show the young Cuban Geovany Bruzon was tested for the first time, good fight but man I really hate the "bridgerweight" division lol.

But back to Herring-Frampton it's sad for Frampton to go out like that, I was a fan of his but like I said in the same post all credit to Herring.

I think I'll claim I'm a Super Featherweight. I'm certain I can get away with it!

Martin Murray did okay with moore in his corner was robbed in Germany of world titles twice imo against strum and Abraham. But yeah apart from that you have a point.

The late Oliver Harrison was Murray's trainer for those close world title fights.

Jamie Moore hasn't yet had a fighter really on the up but he did win trainer of the year in 2018. The likes of Coyle, Frampton and Murray were looking for one more swansong so it's hard to judge him. That's three fighters that have retired under him that I'm aware of.

I like listening to Jamie Moore talk about boxing and breaking down fights. Doesn't mean he's a good trainer though - the jury is still out for me on that one.
