I know what you mean, Fonzie. We all have our 'cliff' horses! But looking at Friday's race in isolation, I still rate him a good chance - and certainly better than 15% (11/2).
We on today lads and lasses? I've done the following. At work at the minute so no time for a write up, but here goes.... 2.00 - Rock Eagle 2.35 - Arafi 3.10 - Venturous 3.45 - Yazaman Good luck to all.
Desperate fayre on Saturday, but Karl Phillipe (2.48 Carlisle) is 5/4 in a place or two and to my mind should be odds on. Hope 'Arry doesn't burn Sandra's crumpets again while he's watching this one!
Wouldn't dissuade you, Mr Dawson. Only trouble is that Johnston has four in the race, so you know what happens! I'm quite taken with the chances of Tornadic (2.25). Charlie Bishop goes up to Edinburgh for the one ride, and the trainer/jockey combo took the Brocklesby on their sortie up North last weekend. 9/2 (Bet365) looks pretty fair for this improving Toronado colt.
I think Karl Phillipe is the marginally best horse but that pulling up last time is a concern. Better watched for me Mr Kaht, Good luck with him though. At Haydock in the 1.00 I like the chances of Gazette Bourgeoise at each way odds (as a left winger I don't really like the idea of supporting the bourgeoisie mind). A similar view with regards Prudhomme in the following race at Haydock. Enough in the price for my each way place betting on the exchange. Lastly, in the 1.50 at Musselburgh Ejtilaab with PJ McDonald on top looks like he could at least hit the frame so I've done him with most money on the place. Best of luck gentlemen and ladies
Richard Johnson retires. A proper, proper bloke there. And a son of Hereford. Fulsome tributes being paid tonight.
Excellent card at Fairyhouse this afternoon. I can't believe the quality this close to Aintree. Gone a bit daft backing horses E/W. So many horses I've backed over course of the season running on same card.
