A great version & an improvement on the original, in that it became a major pop hit at a time when reggae was a crossover music in the UK for soulies & punks.

    Original isn't too shabby.

Not my usual musical preference, but for reasons I am unable to fathom, I've always loved this.

Bought this from the record shop in Darton over the summer. Got some pleasure out of seeing my dad's face when I put it on his record player. If it doesn't sound like or is influenced by King Crimson/Led Zep/Captain Beefheart he doesn't want to know. Nothing wrong with those bands but you need variety! When I was young a friend said I was a musical snob, i asked him what he meant and he said I was too critical of music I dont like and always comparing.. I got offended then realised music is subjective and there to be enjoyed whatever your tastes. If someone suggests something now and I'm not into it, I'll say thanks but it's not for me, rather than what a load of b*llocks, that's ***** etc.

I never did get the gist of what they were singing about, apart from going to the Top Rank club. In Sheffield?

I’ve always liked the song but I watched it once with the subtitles on and it still didn’t make any sense :p

And this one too. The B side to London Calling. Loved hearing this at full blast in the Old No. 7 basement.

Thanks for that link. Daughter has been playing a bit of the Clash on her playlist but you miss all the B sides on Spotify!
