New on here. Been watching the Reds since we won the Third Division (North) Title in 1954-55. Been following this Board since the power cuts in 1972-73. Thought I would take the plunge. Looking forward to lots of banter about our tactical formation - even from those who might take a different view from the majority. Also lots of healthy debate about the US Election and Brexit! LOL! Favorite ever player is Brian Mahoney and the best (under-appreciated) Boss we've had is Jose (Today is going to be a good day) Morais! And I'm not a Bot from a Russian Troll Farm! COYR!
To my mind Mr Egham, the answer to that lies partly in what is going to happen with the ex-Sheikh Hamdan runners. My selections would be Haqeeqy, which is owned by the Sheikh's daughter, and Danyah, which was owned by the Sheikh himself. Will they be allowed to run and hopefully win for the old man's memory, or will they be withdrawn as a mark of respect? Dubai is entering three days of mourning today. The favourite, Eastern World has already won this year at Meydan, but is only four pounds better off with Haqeeqy for a thirteen-length defeat by that horse at Doncaster in October. All will be revealed shortly after 10.30am when the final declarations are published!
Suppose so, or you’d have gone… “the sheikh’s daughter isn’t his daughter and as for the horses... you know what they really are don’t you? All will be revealed at 10.30. I've got money on it.
Do you think the operation will continue or his colours will be retired? I know that Maktoum Al Maktoums colours. Blue with white V and light blue hat aren't seen at racecourses anymore. I know he's very much alive but Sheikh Mohammed's own colours of crimson and white with white star on hat aren't seen as much as they used to be. It tends to be Godolphin Blue.
I've no knowledge on that, Mr D. I tend to think they would go along with the wishes of Uncle Mo. One of his own sons has those silver colours you often see carried by Mark Johnston newcomers, but if they establish themselves as two year olds they tend to run in the Godolphin blue at three. I think one of Hamdan's sons has a variant of the blue and white colours, and Haqeeqy runs in another version for Ms Hissa Hamdan Al Maktoum. Wikipedia lists Hamdan as having three sons and three daughters and only one wife!
