.. WIn 10 , Google Chrome browser.. Security (Accept cookies) splash screen pop up appears on opening opening... click OK... popup closes. So far, so good.... However sometimes if I navigate using back arrow to the opening screen the splash screen re-appears and does not close. I then have to close Chrome and start again. Obviously I could open a new tab instead to avoid that happening but, that means I have to type in the search expression all over again.

Looks like a bug. Has anyone else seen this problem? (I do always clear cookies and history etc when exiting browsers for security purposes)

Some websites (mostly newspapers etc) are unusable without it.

edit to add it’s not a bug in the system, it’s just badly written websites.

As for search results, I always open any links in a new tab, that way I can compare pages and don’t have to ‘go back’ through all the links I may have clicked.

Can you not just set your preferences so Google opens with a specific page/set of pages every time? Or have I misunderstood?

No it is the homepage (I have set mine to be Google Search) or whatever page I navigate to. If I use the back arrow it sometimes brings up the security pop-up again but unlike the first instance which clears when I click on OK it shows busy and makes the Google browser unusable. It may well be that it eventually does clear but I have never had the patience to wait that long.
