The guy has needed help for a long time but doesn't appear to have got it. Too many football players go off the rails when they stop playing. Some gamble, some drink, some take drugs and some like him get in bother with the law. He needs to want to help himself or his friends and family trying to help him is pointless. It will be too late if something happens to him. The tributes would pour in from people saying what a good football player he was, who hadn't reached out to him and had not spoken to him for years.

 

He wasn't really a victim in the stabbing it was during a brawl. It was a shame because he looked half decent.

 

Wonder if his co defendant is the sports agent David Gardner. , Beckhams best friend and married to Liv Tyler ?

 

Whilst I agree that he needed help, I think his problems started long before he finished playing football. He was banned from football for life in 2002 for assaulting a referee whilst playing in Belgium. The ban was later lifted. Then there was the stabbing while on loan at us. You often get the feeling with some people, that they're of a certain mentality, and they attract/go looking for trouble.

 

Sounds like a very unpleasant individual. Lucky to get away with such a light sentence considering his previous record.

Yeah we had a decent little run when he first took over and he was key to that.

 

Leon Knights debut too, I had high hopes when we signed him but don't remember him doing too much for us.

 

Yeah I saw him once away at Leeds in a 2-2 draw and he was overshadowed by Nardiello.
