Only bits of quality in the game was the technique of Woodrows penalty and the quality of the ball from Brittain to set up Dike. Who I thought was very poor. Had two goals put on an absolute plate for him, but his overall play wasn’t up to standard. But just like people value wins over style, people will vote for two goals and believe he was a world beater in getting them.
Put on a plate? The first he powered himself to head in when he was certainly not favourite to get there first, and the second was a very clever finish and hardly a tap-in. They were good chances yeah but on a plate? You saw it very different to me.
They weren't wonder goals but they cemented our win. And no one else really stood out. DK is certainly seizing his opportunity to shine.
Out of the rest of the squad, there’s only Morris and Helik that I’d back to score the first one, and Morris who id back to score the second one.
The first was moderately more difficult, but still a very easy chance, the second, I think even our coaching staff could have finished that from Britain’s superb ball in.
You have to be there to put them in the net. Yesterday was a physical battle. Who is gonna out muscle Dike?
He didn’t need out muscling though, the ball in was too good for the defence, it wasn’t like his goal at qpr which needed strength to hold off the defenders.
Brittain has put plenty of superb balls in like that, only to find nobody had made the run across the near post. Woodrow and Chaplin would’ve been stood on the edge of the box with their back to goal.
Comedy gold you think there is more to converting a penalty from 12 yards. Than getting between the defender and goalkeeper to head home or timing a run to get on end of Britain's cross
