Because it's enough people that it's a problem. It doesn't have to be the majority for that to be the case.

Are you kidding me? A big part of the reason that this got the attention it did and the comment about the male curfew was made (in the ‘if anyone should be told to not go out after dark it should be men’ way) was because the woman was blamed.

********. She herself says that she said it because in the wake f this awful crime the police have ADVISED women not to go out alone at night for their own safety. It is extremely sad that they had to do that but it isn't blaming her at all other than a few absolute nutjobs on twitter how many people have you seen blame her?

Muslims should not be allowed near gatherings because whilst it's a small minority there are enough of them intent on commuting acts of terror.

No matter what the reason for an MP saying that and no matter how much they then claim it was not serious they'd be fired immediately.

And before you say anything I have defended Muslims many many times on here exactly the same way I am defending men. You cannot generalise against an entire section of society based on the actions of a small minority

Shouldn't that be - don't hold a vigil get back in the house and protect the NHS and save lives?

This is the strawest man I have ever seen. Impressive levels of nonsense really.

I was doing nothing even slightly similar to what you have suggested there. At all. Ever.

I never said or implied it was a majority of people. It's enough people that it's a problem and should be highlighted. That's all I've done here.

    You've generalised.

Go on then how man people said get back in the kitchen to those attending the protest?

Hang on. How is advising women not to go out alone not blaming women? That's exactly what it is. It's saying that women are responsible for what men might want to do to them and that they should take steps to stop it happening.

I'm not going to be replying to you anymore in this thread because you're being a massive ****. Think about what you're saying.

Of course it isn't blaming them it's advising them.
The police offer safety advice all the time and it isn't blaming victims. They tell you to hide your Christmas presents on Christmas eve but that isn't blaming victims of theft.

The police's job is to offer safety advice to the public, if you think that is blaming the victim you're ****** in the head

What's the real source of your rage, surely it can't be the original post? It was taking events and emphasising how women are often portrayed to make a good point I thought.

The vast majority (~79% in one poll iirc) of over 50s backed the Royal Family over Meghan. Prince Harry now has an approval rating of -3 in the general population - the lowest ever, hers is -27 - down from -14 last week.

I think some people should calm down a bit. Not worth insulting about is it? My take on the OP was that it was akin to a TW3 satirical observation which was done in a light-hearted way to make one think. I didn't take it too serious or to heart. We've all got brains on here.

Exactly my thought on reading it, trying to use humour to highlight how things are viewed to suit.

That was the intention yes. Using obvious exaggerations that do have a foothold in the truth to prove a point. Think everyone except one understood that.

Loads and loads of people. All blaming one or a multiple of her a) walking alone ‘at that time of night’ (she set off at 9pm and was taken around 9:30pm most likely), b) visiting a friend during lockdown (support bubbles are allowed and she lived alone) c) taking that specific route (even though she had cleared the Common safely anyway). It was way, way more than a few.
