The 5 sub rule.

I thought the new ruling was that although a team can use 5 subs, they only had 3 opportunities to do so.

 

3 breaks in play, plus any half time subs

 

Three occasions besides substitutes made at half time.

 

Cheers. I thought I'd opened a can of worms and maybe a re-match would be on the cards. I'm not sure I could sit through that again .

 

I was watching Spurs the other day and the commentator said something like “it’s the 65th minute and Jose Mourinho is about to make his first substitution” and I was thinking “big Val would have made at least 4 by now!”
