I’ll tell you what though, Pant is a joy to watch. I love a good blocker like Pujara but that’s the great thing about test cricket, there’s room for all sorts.
this. A bowler light, Bess bowling pies and we are right in trouble now. poor batting is the root cause of this bowling performance.
Well if I'd had a stomach bug i could nt have done what Stokes has today in 39 degree heat. Hope he gets a good rest tonight.
I'm struggling to enjoy it. We've gone from looking like we could get a lead to looking like a team that's been broken from 2 days in the field, in the space of a session. All because of rank bad team selection and captaincy.
Hardly. It’s a result of tired bowling and nothing more. They were 146/6. Hardly an awe inspiring batting performance.
I don’t think it’s a 205 all out or a 146/6 pitch. Reckon 270-300 would be par but we fell well short and when you get a low score it only takes one decent partnership to overtake you.
He's done very well. But we've picked 3 front line bowlers, one of whom was dropped for test matches on the last two dustbowls, and expected two part time bowlers to make up the shortfall (Stokes hasn't been a front line bowler for 2-3 years now. Instead bowls the odd excellent spell). Staggeringly bad selection. Then when we give ourselves a chance, we open up after tea with both Bess and Root. We've broken ourselves, and he's cashing in.
But it’s a hell of a long way away from “a cracking pitch to bat on”! One partnership against this bowling attack who are bowling full tosses and the like is not indicative of a good pitch.
