Playing the high press for 90 minutes we need it. Not so much if tactics change. Whilst I’m enjoying it at the mo. It isn’t the football I prefer. Hunter/Wilson football was to die for. But needs must first. Points. Love these players and manager btw. All give their all. Hard to say I’d like it permanently. I was livid when it went to 3. Where do you stop. ?
5, I thought 3 was a great a move but if we’re demanding high-energy team performances, then increase it to 5 by all means. Don’t think it needs to be any higher though. Also, don’t mind how many you can name in your match day squad the more the better for me. It’s all about maximising your options and getting the best out of your squad.
No problem with numbers in squad mate. I just can’t get my head round the fact of more subs being used. It suits us great and this manager has it off to a tee.
Well they like to bend the rules on the financial side of the league/ FA, rules why not try it on the footballing side?
Definately. Regardless of our style of play. We all bemoan the number of young players in the game who get loaned out or just play U23 games. So if it continues to help eleviate that then good. Ps Cunning Stunt! Capital C and capital S! Tut...........
This is my only objection to keeping 5. It allows minted clubs like Chelsea etc who stack the academies to keep doing so, they'll be able to argue that youngsters have more of a chance of getting on the pitch. While that is true, they'll still just pay £50m next time they need a full back, and arguing to justify paying anyone half decent who lives within 90 miles £10k a week.
I think you should be allowed a maximum number of players per club. Chelsea and Man city seem to have loads.
Agree. But the amount of squad players they can have (25 with a minimum of 8 homegrown) . Releases more on loan. Why anyone would want to sign for such clubs. Knowing full well 90+% of them will ever play a first team game is beyond me. Apart from the silly money of course.
I was originally against it but having seen how our coach uses the 5 sub rule tactically & how opposition coaches use it , I now believe it actually makes the game more interesting , take the other night against Stoke , we were winning at half time but Stoke had played well in the first half & were well in the game , both coaches made changes at half time & it effected how both teams played , eventually we ran out winners but I thought that was very much down to how Val got his changes right & O "niels changes were to the detriment of Stoke , my conclusion was that Val won the battle of the coaches & we took the points .
