Ref who has lost it. Gave a goal. Knocked it off. Then gave it lost the plot. Not a clue. Var involved and still not conclusive Score could be 1-1 or it could be 1-0 Absolute shambles
It centred on whether Mason had blown his whistle to allow the fk to be taken. He didn't seem to know whether he had or not, despite it literally happening seconds earlier. Absolute shambles.
He blew his whistle for Brighton to take it but VAR is saying he blew it again before the ball crossed the line , ridiculous
Just watched it again. Lee Mason definitely makes a mistake by blowing his whistle the first time, but realises that the goalkeeper was way out of position and nobody was ready so blew again to pull it back before the ball crossed the line. It's a pretty bad error from him, but despite that he dealt with it straightaway, and quite well in my opinion. Then VAR gets involved and it all goes a bit mental. If it weren't for VAR it'd just be one of those things, but with it the whole thing descends into a complete shambles.
They say refereeing is hard, no it isn't, it's a piece of piss, stick to the rules, end of. Bricklaying is hard.
True, but the players could - you can see it from the immediate reactions that the Brighton players knew exactly what was going on.
Supposed to be 4th Official at Blunts v Liverpool today but "picked up an injury" so been replaced. What a surprise!
