We think refs have it in for us but it could be worse

I got round to watching the highlights on Quest and saw the Wycombe game
yet again they lost the game due to referees getting major decisions wrong in the favour of the opposition
with a goal disallowed because the player was only about 5 yards onside and a stonewall penalty turned down again. It seems to have happened to them a lot this season and unless things start to even out with a string of critical errors in their favour in the next 20 games could well be the difference between relegation or survival
I suspect had they gone 2-1 up they would probably have won the game instead of losing in the 95th minute
I guess the likes of Wycombe rate even lower than the likes of us

I despair, the standard of refereeing really is deteriorating alarmingly, I have read where some people have said things like refs are poor and make bad decisions but they don’t cheat. I will always argue that decisions always seem to go against the ‘less fashionable’ smaller club, therefore it is cheating

So the backend of last season it was widely considered that clubs where getting more fairly officiated yet this season it seems to have returned to the Wild West - why is that?

The stuff oppositions seem to get away with week in week out that we seem to get punished for. There is some kind of bias going on.

Do refs think our style is overly aggressive? Yes we physically challenge teams but it’s to turn the ball over to give us an attacking transition with us rarely going to ground to tackle.

Knowing refs we get all their officiating woes will even out in one match
    Against us

Perhaps, it’s because our players are largely relatively unknown, don’t go harassing ref’s an generally give them an easier time when decisions go against them. Also, don’t generally go down like they’ve been shot when an opponent breathes near them.

In my experience, refs always seem to favour the "bigger" club or the more "fashionable" club. I don't know whether it's subconscious or what. Maybe they just want to be liked and have worked out that favouring bigger more fashionable clubs will automatically result in more "likes"....

Thankless task and I wouldn't do it but as Tarntyke sed they do take the easy option when it's a Barnsley or Wycome against a more "Fashionable'
side...I genuinely don't think they cheat and the proven cases of them taking bribes etc is minuscule in our leagues as opposed to some countrys
    but they do get influenced
( Remember Reds v Liverpool in prem)
also the linesperson who, is his back up, often let's the ref down with poor decisions which they suffer for..is the answer VAR at all levels..who knows.

    Not influenced by the crowd.

Must therefore be influenced by club stature.

I think it’s probably media bias too. Brentford seen as the current moneyball darlings yet some of the most shitehouse stuff was on show by Toney on Sunday. He probably should have been sent off yet was seemingly allowed to roam around doing what he wanted in a bad tempered manner because he wasn’t getting a sniff of a chance of a goal. How we only got carded in the 95th min I will never know.

Seems like he did the same against QPR, even their fans were commenting on it.
