I mean I’ve not looked at the bottom of the league and worked out our chances of avoiding relegation for ages. It’s just unnatural!
The only reason for looking at the bottom of the table is to make sure Wednesday are still in the brown stuff.
I want to give Murray some credit. We could have been in the sh1 t big time when Val came in. Those draws really steadied the ship. More so because he got us attacking.
Considering we have only just won our first league game in 6(??), little damage has been done in terms of sliding down the table. Win our game in hand and we’ll be getting another nose bleed Will still be happy when we get to 50 points though - force of habit
We are a lot better than any of the teams in the bottom 9, our results against them have reflected that. 26 of our 39 points have come against the current bottom 9. That's why we've not been looking down this season, we are much better than any of the teams down there. It's the 11 points from 48 against the teams above us that's the thing we need to rectify.
Totally agree though luckily we've only got 3 more games against the top 6 to play. 11 of our remaining fixtures are against teams in the bottom half.
I still fancy us to get 7 home wins from those. That's 60 points then, without considering away matches.
That league table above looks very nice indeed. It's mid-February and we're 4 wins away from securing Championship status for next season. That's some achievement - and one that I doubt many of us expected. I know I didn't.
All our games left predominantly are mid table or bottom of the league teams. No reason we can't have a good go at the Play Offs. I'm not one for pessimism, I'm not one for OTT happy clapping, but the majority of the games left we have a chance of winning. By the time we play Norwich, they could be almost up, and Bournemouth aren't playing half as well as they were when we played them before.
Apologies, but old habits die hard. I am still counting up from the bottom. Before yesterday's game I was worried that we were only 8'points off the drop zone. I can't wait until we have passed the (theoretical) 50 point safety mark. It will take a few years of progress before I can rid myself of this bad habit. I am still trying to quit smoking over 8 years since I last had a ***.
I know clearly you weren't talking about anal intercourse with another man or using a gay slang term.
