Big shout out for Palmer - our midfield looks so much more settled with him in it.

I still think Kane might come good, but Palmer ahead of him as far as I'm concerned.

Love our like for like subs that just keep up the intensity.

The five subs rule is a massive help to our game.

This is a position that`ll be shared out between em IMO. Palmer needs bringing along gently Don`t think its a case of who is better more who is fresher.

Kane will come good I have no doubts he has the ability it's just about getting his fitness and head right.
I agree Palmer looked the part today.

Totally agree and I like the fact that we always seem to take advantage of it for the better - marginal gains and all that.

Exactly why we didn't need to keep James when we had no chance of him staying full time. Giving the minutes to Palmer will benefit us long-term plus short term he's bloody good anyway

I think the lad is developing quite nicely and is already a heck of a player.

I love the way Palmer plays, so composed, can read the game and allows Alex to do what he does. In simple, terms he does the dirty work in the middle of the park, something we have been lacking in previous seasons.

One of my favourites and we should enjoy him whilst he's still here as he will end up at a top flight club at some point.

Will be interesting to see how we go about things next season, assuming it’s back to three subs. Guess the midfielders will be expected to play the full 90 more

I'm really impressed with the way he's developing this season. With Styles and Brittain, we've got some great youngsters

It’s utterly mental that he’s chosen Kane over him for the last few games. God knows what he’s been watching.

I agree, we've got some fantastic young prospects at the moment who look totally at home in the championship.

I think a lot of that is down to us paying so much for Kane, they’ll be wanting some kind of return on that amount of investment

I’ve got absolutely no stats to back it up but it seems to me that whenever Palmer starts we win a lot more than we lose.

He came into the team out of the blue after the original lockdown & we started winning games.

    I really like the kid.

VI doesn’t strike me as sort of guy who will be dictated to who plays.

Does anyone know how long his contract is for? Now is the time to sign him up to another one.

Edit - the end of June 2022

let’s hope we can tie him down with a new deal, we will be in a better position to negotiate now.

I agree with you & one thing Val likes to do is rotate players , people are grumbling about Kane because mainly of how well Palmer plays , however Palmer has had his share of injuries & rotating Kane with Palmer has probably allowed him to play to his best but continually playing him might take its toll , we will see, like yourself I trust Vals judgement
