Well if you’re suggesting that England have given up after their 1st innings then they need to come home
He’s about 45 now and still taking wickets for fun on ridiculous pitches, then they wonder why we can’t produce decent spinners. The reports are that the batsmen now just tee off on the green seamers to get their runs as quick as possible because one will have their name on it either way, not exactly conducive to creating test match batters either.
I’m not suggesting they’ve given up it it’s obviously far easier to bat/bowl when you’re dominating. Look how India are batting now compared to the 4th innings in the first test.
I’m not suggesting that your wrong about a poor pitch, and I also take the point about India finding it far easier given their position. However, my point still stands that England still should be doing better on the same poor pitch.
I think the blame lies in the bowling rather than the batting to be honest, 330 or whatever they got was at least 80 too many on that pitch. I don’t think there was much we did wrong with the batting, well, we could have batted better obviously but since don’t think it was as bad as the score suggests especially considering the pitch and the quality of bowling on offer.
I think the rot set in batting wise in the last test. Getting skittled for 178 was a sign of things to come. It was the rampant 170/4d I was after.
The performance of that clown in the studio needs investigation today. He admitted one mistake yesterday and a review was given back to England. We’ve played badly today but the third umpire has had a stinker
