I'm guessing we'll have to rotate a few, with the effort put in last night and the short turnaround. Collins Williams Sole Helik Andersen Styles Kane Mowatt Morris Woodrow Adeboyejo Kane had a good game last night, I thought. If he's fit enough then we could start him but we might well see Palmer, which is fine by me too. I want to see Morris start. I like Frieser but he hasn't been producing much. Chaplin is also ahead of him in the pecking order. Dike is still the mystery option.
I'd go same again (remember we've had nearly 2 weeks rest before this game). I think that starting 11 is likely our best side, though its a close run thing with Palmer for Kane and we've not seen much of Morris to see if he can challenge to be a first team starter regularly.
After we had signed Morris, Ismael described him as "a complete striker". If he still thinks that, it is hard to understand why Morris has not had more game time.
................Collins.............. ......Sol..Helik..Andersen.... Brittain..Palmer..Mowatt..Styles ..Woodrow..Dike..Morris... victor makes more of an impact when brought on. I think Palmer has shown more quality than Kane. I also think we need that leadership at the back with big Sol. Morris and Dike to start to see what they are all about from the off.
I’d bring Morris in for victor, and move Woodrow into a wider position with Morris central. Won’t happen though
On the flip side, we saw what benefit a couple of weeks rest can have on the intensity of the pressing game. Also, watching the Blackburn Preston game tonight, there might be a case for leaving the best front three for pressing on the bench on Sunday, and going at them on Wednesday. Not sure we’ll be pressing quite so intently at Brentford anyway.
Palmer in for Kane all day long for me. Think if we play how we did vs Chelsea, we'll be picking up 3 points. COYR!
Palmer 100% over Kane. We need Sibbicks pace and he played well against Chelsea. I would keep Brittain at wingback Up front Woodrow then it's a lottery as at the minute. Nobody looks likely to scoring unfortunately. Are Morris and Dikes fit though to play the press? Still not sure what Frieser offers when he has the ball. We need players who can make something happen when they have the ball up front.
We've looked much stronger defensively with Collins and Sibbick in the team so I am shocked so many would play Sol and Walton instead of them when we conceded a lot more with them in the team.
No they haven't been. They have both been in the same starting line up for four games in a row. In that time time we've beaten second in the league Norwich and only lost to one of the best teams in the country. Before that we had lost three in four.
2 from 6 as two of the four were cup games where against 2nd in the Championship and 5th in the Premier League we let in one goal.
I get the point you are trying to make but our league form is now what’s important. In terms of that is pretty much accepted we don’t fair well against teams in the top 6 of the league. So tomorrow on that basis probably indicates another loss or draw at best.
